Our Four Foundations

Through an original discovery framework, we equip families to use the unique bend of their student as the lens in which they learn to learn.

Using a hybrid model, we support families who desire the customization of home education with the guidance and accountability of classroom instruction.

Informed by their unique bend, we engage students’ interests and skills with age-appropriate, real-world application opportunities.

We know a student’s academic success is directly related to their moral instruction. All curriculum is rooted in an evangelical Christian worldview.

What Makes Us Different:

  • University-style academic model and innovative educational philosophy

  • Parent-partnered educational model, empowering families to customize their learning journey

  • Concentration on trait-focused discovery and growth for the family

  • Application-oriented outcomes according to your students’ unique bend

OUR VISION

The BEND Method

“Is it the curriculum? The environment? Or my kid? How has God wired them?

The BEND Method is the original approach to education being innovated here at WaterStone Academy.

The BEND Method engages a variety of assessments and technology to:

  • Match students with their best educational approach

  • Map their unique qualities

  • Make lesson plans

  • Measure their progress over time

The shared vocabulary creates a common language between the classroom and the homeroom, creating opportunity for the greatest tools in education — consistency and communication.

  • Scholars will come to campus on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8am - 3pm. During this time, they will experience a facilitated environment involving independent study, brain breaks, as well as our original electives in Leadership and Communication.

In 2026-2027, scholars will have the option to add-on university-style courses with an instructor in core subjects such as Math, Sciences, Foreign Language, and English.

During the other days of the week, scholars continue their work at home in partnership with their parents. We believe this hybrid model allows families to experience the customization of home education with an educational support system.

  • We partner with families navigating the new endeavors of upper school.

We want families to experience the best of hybrid education, especially as their 6th-12th grade scholars step closer to higher education and career. This stage of education not only engages new academic skill, but also new social and emotional skills as well. This is what led us to design this track around these skills.

In this Track, older scholars enjoy a facilitated space that teaches independent study techniques and collaborative practice.

In addition for 2026-2027, we will be offering core courses and electives with instruction that subscribe to the university model. Learning and accountability are kicked off in the classroom, and work is assigned and continued throughout the week.

This school year, we will be offering:

    • Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry)

    • Science (Life Science, Physical Science, Biology with Lab, and Chemistry with Lab)

    • Foreign Language (Spanish and ASL)

    • Leadership and Communication -- a course entirely on the art of communication, teaching language arts and communication basics such as networking, writing a pitch, writing a professional email, and even creating a meeting agenda. In addition, we have students take our Bend Method assessments. From there, we teach them and create application-oriented activities based off their personalized results. These activities are designed to show them how their bend helps them work within groups and individually.

  • This year, we are willing to partner with families with the StepUp FES-UA and PEP scholarships.

For more information, please see our 2026-2027 Fee Summary and Financial Agreement.

Small Classroom Sizes

While on campus, scholars engage in hands-on instruction within small classroom sizes (1:8 educator-scholar ratio). They receive instruction from facilitators and educators committed to your child’s academic excellence, as well as the discovery and growth of every child’s bend.

Customized Curriculum

As part of our mission to provide customized biblical education, upper school scholars begin with Bible & Character Building, then depending on their schedule, will engage in a facilitated study environment run by our Bend Method trained facilitators along with our original courses, such as Leadership and Communication — a course entirely on the art of communication, teaching language arts and communication basics such as networking, writing a pitch, writing a professional email, and even creating a meeting agenda. In addition, we have students take our Bend Method assessments. From there, we teach them and create application-oriented activities based off their personalized results. These activities are designed to show them how their bend helps them work within groups and individually.

Then, scholars have the option to select their Core Courses instructed and designed by our amazing educators.

NEW! Core Course Instruction

For 2026-2027, we will be offering core courses and electives with instruction that subscribe to the university model.
